Today we have Ines from The Few, The Proud, The Wife. Check out what she has to say and browse through her awesome blog!
First, tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you?
My name is Ines. I'm a 30-something Marine Wife from Spain. I love to read, sew, craft and, at times, attempt to exercise.
Tell us about your spouse.
He's a Marine from Southern Louisiana.
Tell us about your family.
We have one adorable miniature Schnauzer, Brownie!
Where are you from?
Where do you live now? Do you like it there?
29 Palms, CA. I hate it here. There are barely no jobs and we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere. If you are to be stationed here, don't be discouraged by my opinion, some people love this place.
What about your home away from home – your blog? Tell us a bit about your blogging journey so far.
I started my blog in 2009. I was getting married shortly and was also getting my immigration paperwork in order. Blogging, to me, is an outlet. I love it. I love the support and wonderful friends that I have met through blogging. I wish we all lived closer to one another.
Have you been through a deployment? Do you have any advice for those who are or will be?
Yes! Don't be afraid to cry, its normal, it doesn't mean you are not strong, it means you are human.
How do you like being a military spouse?
Yes. Its roller coaster of a ride where some days you love it and others you don't. But that's life and its a great experience.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Somewhere amazing and still being a MilSpouse. I just hope that in this amazing place I will have a job.
What’s your favorite food?
Pizza, not going to lie. I like the authentic NY pizza that when you pick up a slice the dough is perfectly cooked that they cheese slides off. Great! now I'm hungry :)
Tell us a fun fact!
I cannot, for the life of me, make mashed potatoes from scratch. I can make anything, gnocchi's from scratch, coq au vin, etc. but not something as simple as mashed potatoes. I either add too much milk or butter or decide that my potatoes are cooked when they aren't.
Anything else you would like to add?
Thank you Chantal for featuring me!
