Friday Featured Blogger: This is Me; Consequently

Hey everyone! Here we are again for our next Friday Featured Blogger! Today we get to learn about Jamie from This is Me; Consequently - a blogger who lives right near me in sunny Alabama. Hope you enjoy! Happy Friday!
This is Me; Consequently.

First, tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you?

I'm Jamie! I'm from a small town in Alabama where the days are hot and the tea is sweet. I'm an artist and a crafter. I'm an army wife and a first time SAH mom. I have a college degree, but no desire to put it to good use [yet].

Tell us about your spouse.

My husband is currently making the switch from National Guard to Active Duty Army! He is finishing up the last of his college credit hours, and will be commissioning as a 2LT in Field Artillery in May!

Tell us about your family

On June 30th, 2011, our little princess Adelei graced us with her presence. She has a fur sister, Kami [a black lab mix]. And the two of them keep me on my toes.

Where are you from?

I'm originally from Clayhatchee, AL, a small town outside of Ft. Rucker, AL.

Where do you live now? Do you like it there?

I currently live in Troy, AL. But will be PCSing to Ft. Sill, OK in less than a month. I'm so happy to be leaving this little, creepy college town.

What about your home away from home – your blog? Tell us a bit about your blogging journey so far.

I started my blog in 2008 as a way to vent my college frustrations. Over the years, as I gained readers and...maturity, it has turned into a place where I share recipes, pictures, craft ideas, and of course, talk about my life.

Have you been through a deployment? Do you have any advice for those who are or will be?

We have been lucky enough to miss that boat thus far. But I will definitely need advice when that time comes!

How do you like being a military spouse?

I love it! I love the bond, the networking, the support [of other military wives]. Of course I love that my husband is honoring our country. & I enjoy the benefits that come along with that [steady paycheck, healthcare, world travel!]

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Where ever the Army sends us! My husband wants to make a career out of this, and I stand behind that. I hope to be a SAHM, at least until my daughter starts school.

What’s your favorite food?

This one is a hard one, as I am a self proclaimed 'foodie'. But I would have to say that my ALL time favorite food is Chicken Fried Rice, and french dip sandwiches are a close second.

Tell us a fun fact!

Paula Deen is my foodie idol, and I hope to be like her one day [sans diabetes ;)]

Anything else you would like to add?

I have my own etsy store, Home Made With Love. I sell bows, headbands, custom hand stamped jewelry, art prints, and paintings. I also sell custom paintings and tutus on request. MilSpouses can receive 15% off their first purchase with code MILSP12.
