First Father's Day

On Sunday I was just so busy I never got around to writing a "Penny Says..." post for Father's Day! But I thought I'd come around and let you know how it went.

This was Brandon's first official Father's Day! Last year I mentioned my own Daddy, so a happy day to him too, but I thought since this was a special day for Brandon, we could talk about him.

Wow, I picked a good husband, but I picked an even better father of my children. He was made to be a good dad. He loves this baby of his like no other. He wants to hold her, hug her, kiss her, toss her around and make her laugh. Penny is pretty lucky to have someone like this in his life.

We woke up early, like usual. I haven't mentioned that his family was in town for the weekend, so we had two dads there! We made a big breakfast of scrambled eggs with veggies, bacon, strawberries and some cinnamon pull-apart bread. Delicious. Then we opened their gifts! Brandon got a BluRay from Penny and an iPod dock from me. His dad for some new shirts.
The boys wanted to go shooting, so we were off to the range in the morning. That afternoon we hit up Cold Stone for some ice cream. For dinner, we made steak, potatoes and corn on the cob. We played some games before bed too. It was a very good day!

The night ended with me being super busy cleaning up from dinner and finishing up the bone broth I had started a few hours before. Brandon took the reins and gave Penny a bath, dried her off, put her lotion on, did the diaper and pajamas, and read her a book. I went to check on him before he handed her off to me to eat and he told me, "I don't mind doing this. I'm actually glad I got the chance to do the entire bedtime routine because now I know I can do it. This was fun for me!" Warms my heart.

Happy Father's Day, Brandon, from me and from Penny.
