Friday Featured Blogger: Stars, Stripes, and a Military Life

Welcome to the first installment of Scattered Seashells’ Friday Featured Blogger! I was so excited by the amount of bloggers who wanted to be involved that I had to change the monthly feature to a every-second-Friday feature. So please keep an eye out every first, third, and sometimes fifth, Friday of the month.

Today we meet our first blogger, Morgan at Stars, Stripes, and a Military Life.

First, tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you?

My name is Morgan. I am in culinary school at the Art Institute of Raleigh Durham. My passion is learning as much as I can about food and beverages. I spend my time cooking, cleaning, and supporting my husband. We have a yellow lab named Libby, a fish named Sushi George Clooney, and a rabbit named Molly Emeril. We love to spend time with our family and visit our favorite city Memphis as much as possible.

Tell us about your spouse.

We are stationed at Fort Bragg. Mr. Army Man is in 4-73 Cav. He is also an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. He loves spending time outside and is extremely active. He enjoys running, yard work, playing with our dog. He is currently deployed.

Tell us about your family.

We are planning on starting our family when he returns from his second deployment.

Where are you from?

West Memphis Arkansas.

Where do you live now? Do you like it there?

Fort Bragg. We adore it!

What about your home away from home – your blog? Tell us a bit about your blogging journey so far.

I have been blogging almost a year, and I adore all the friends I’ve made and the remarkable women who support me. Although I didn't get into it for that purpose. I started blogging for family/friends back home to see what we were up to since we moved and to keep track of our journey as a newlywed couple.

Have you been through a deployment? Do you have any advice for those who are or will be?

I am going through my first deployment now. Check out this post for advice.

How do you like being a military spouse?

I wouldn't have it any other way. I love supporting my husband every step of the way.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself supporting my husband with his continuing army career with our children and of course our dog. I also see myself continuing my culinary career being a food critic or a head chef somewhere.

What’s your favorite food?

Oh that's a hard one! I am such a foodie hence becoming a chef. Check out this post on comfort foods.

Anything else you would like to add?

Thank you Chantal for letting me share on her blog. Us MilSpouses have to stick together. Keep our spouses heads up and support them throughout everything. God bless them and our country!

If you’re interested in participating and seeing your blog featured, please send me an email or leave a comment – but make sure your reply-to email is set! I will send you the questionaire and you could be featured too!
