30 Day Shred

Last month, I started the 30 Day Shred. I was much more dedicated to it this time. Ok, the first 10 days, I skipped maybe two days. The second 10 days, I skipped another two days. The third? Probably three or four. What can I say? I'm a lazy bum sometimes. Things get in the way, and sometimes I just don't feel like it. Though once I'm actually working out, I feel pretty good!

My stats didn't change much. I hardly lost weight or gained muscle, but I can tell I'm getting stronger and I'm feeling good about myself. Brandon even says I look better! Here's how it stands:

Weight: Start - 142.2, End - 141.6 (and 140.8 at one point).
Thighs: Start - 22.25" (left) & 22" (right), End - 22.25" (left) & 22.75" (right)
Arms: Start - 12" (left) & 11.5" (right), End - 11.75" (left) & 11.75" (right)
Belly: Start - 35.5", End - 33"

Here are my before and after photos, side by side. The after photos are zoomed in more - hey, I'm not perfect. I look the same to me, except maybe my tummy is slightly flatter.

I think the biggest plus of doing this 30 Day Shred was the fact that now I want to work out more. When Brandon gets back from SERE we plan on doing p90x. Crazy, huh? I'll have to keep working out while he's gone! I also want to get jogging again... with a baby and a dog. Yes, I am crazy.

I will say that the first time I tried this exercise video a couple years ago, I hurt my back during the first phase. This time, I hurt my foot in the last days doing the jumping exercises. It doesn't hurt bad, but it feels weird. So watch out.

All in all, I'm happy I did it. I think that's one of my 101 in 1001 too? Sweet!


  1. at least you finished! I dont think breaks are bad at all! Look at me! hahaha.
    I am scared of p90x, I have a friend offering to do that with me and I am scared I'll pass out and die. I need to be thinner to do that! that or less boobs. Excuses I know.
    Good job though hun! Keep going!!

  2. I've been told that if you do a couple cycles of it that is when you can really see results. I have it and want to give it a go but, living in an apartment, it is difficult to exercise with bothering your downstairs neighbor :)

  4. That's awesome that you completed it and that you are feeling stonger, too! I've heard her videos are pretty hard. I've done P90X and I really liked it. It's hard, but you can scale all of your weights to your fitness level. Keep up the good work!

  5. Your tummy does look a little bit smaller! That's awesome! Good luck with p90x! I can't wait to see what you think of it.

    I'm totally not thrilled about the fact that I'm going to have to work so hard to lose the baby belly. =P Part of me can't wait to work out again and the rest of me is kinda sad. Haha!
