Hawaii vs the Mainland

We're safe and sound in Colorado! We've actually just arrived at our in-laws in the Springs after spending a couple days at my dad's house north of Denver. It's just never enough time with family! As we were driving down here I was thinking about everything different about Hawaii and the Mainland. We're definitely Mainland people!

Gas Prices: Come on, don't complain about pay $3.05 a gallon when we were paying at least $4.05 for the cheap stuff on post!

Foooooooooood: Chipotle, Chick Fil A, Red Robin, On The Border, Chipotle, TGI Friday's, did I mention Chipotle?

Stores!: As we were driving I was saying "Look at all the Targets! Another Target! Oh, Kohl's! JC Penney!" Yeah, we had a couple Targets on the island, but nothing like this!

Speed Limits: On the backroads here you can go as fast as the freeways in Hawaii. Nice.

Temperature: I'm used to the cold here but there is a biting wind sometimes in Colorado. Brrr.

Ok, we liked living in Hawaii. Seriously, we were living in Hawaii. But I'm certainly glad to be back on the Mainland and excited to continue on our adventure!!

  1. It sounds like you guys are having such a wonderful adventure! I'm glad that you are getting to spend so much time with family!
I'd love to still be paying $3.05 for gas. We're at $3.49, but that's still better than $4.05! Wow!

  2. I may or may not be a liiiiitle jealous! ;) Our turn will come eventually, but in the mean time, I will live vicariously through you ;) Haha!

  3. 3.05 a gallon? I wish! It's about .60 more here.

  4. You guys left at a good time. Gas is almost to $4.15 now. =( And where you put Chipotle on your list, I'd swap with Chick Fil A. LOL! I can't wait to move back to the mainland! I mean, Hawaii is great but... I miss home!

  5. Welcome back.

Targets excite me too. When we were in England 3 years I missed the store so much.
