Mommy Moments

Crazy mom moment... waking up when you're finally sleeping well convinced that the baby is in the bed with you. After throwing the sheets around looking for her, you see she's in her own bed, sleeping soundly.

Happy mom moment... when she finally falls asleep and stays asleep!

Grumpy mom moment... after changing her for the third time in a row, she poops. Again.

Helpless mom moment... you just get in the car and are finally driving down the road when she starts screaming. You can't reach the pacifier, either!

Funny mom moment... putting the baby down for tummy time and she freaks out and almost flips herself over.

Frustrated mom moment... you know she just wants to sleep but you don't know what to do to get her down!

Overjoyed mom moment... seeing those phantom smiles as she's falling asleep and knowing that you can't wait until she actually smiles for real. It melts your heart every time!

Four weeks down. Can you believe it?

  1. A life saver for me when my baby was little, was those little binky clips/leash. When we would go in the car I would always hook it to her carseat straps so that I could find it easily! That, and I would keep a little supply in my center console too juuuust incase!

  2. When my oldest was a baby he refused to sleep if his dad was not home (J used to do bedtime.) Nothing I did would work, until one 'night' at 0500 in the morning I was so frazzled I called my mama and asked what to do. I was at the point of driving around (which she told me not to do since I had been awake for over 24 hours) and was in tears. She told me to put him in his swing. What do you know, it was a miracle! (Don't ask why I didn't consider it beforehand.) Every night after when J was gone, C would sleep in the swing and I was on the couch.

  4. Hi, I'm one of those lurker types that has been following you for quite awhile, but I just don't ever comment... but this post is so appropriate to my life right now. My son is about 10 days older than Penny so I'm going through all the same things. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one searching my bed for a baby that isn't there!

  5. Ive had those crazy mom moments for sure! Thankfully, at 4 months, the poop slows down and she doesnt dirty more than one at a time. =) She hates the car though and screams the entire time we're in there. Ugh.
I learned how to put her to sleep around 8 weeks. I swaddle her arms, hold her in a side lying position, give her a paci and walk around bouncing her. She goes right to sleep!
