Day Two Hundred Eighty-Three

I finished another 101 in 1001 today: 51. Volunteer for a worthy cause.

The worthy cause? Our Brigade Memorial Fund Poker Ride. Basically, they get a bunch of bikers to come out and do this ride to raise money. We sell t-shirts and opportunity tickets, too. We're raising money to put the names of our KIA on the memorial on post, and also to fly the families out for the re-dedication ceremony. Definitely a worthy cause in my book!

The day started early when my alarm woke me up. I got ready and headed out, since I had to be there by 7:30am. We set up the tables and the t-shirts for selling. I sold t-shirts until 11am. That really was the gist of the volunteering part of my day!!

Here's some of the bikes lined up and ready to go:

After that, I packed up and headed over to Christina's. I was greeted by this and had to take a picture.

Hehe I love it.

We spent the afternoon down by the coast, hanging with friends, listening to music, and chasing Marcus around. I got a bit of a sunburn, but that's ok.

The worse thing was during the raffle drawing... I lost two tickets to anywhere on Continental by ONE TICKET! Grrr. The consolation prize was a $10 gift certificate to some Japanese restaurant. Whatevs.

Then I ate dinner at Christina's house (she's so good to me) and came home to watch my Netflix and chat with Brandon. It was a good day!!
