Day One-Hundred-One

I'm contemplating doing numbers instead of Hundred... you know, One-Zero-One. I dunno. I have to think about it!

Anyway, I'm excited about something. Something that is happening in just three short weeks. No, it has nothing to do with Brandon! Haha. It's...

NaNoWriMo!

What's NaNoWriMo, you ask? Well, allow me to explain. NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It's a writing competition (though you don't win much except satisfaction and a cool badge). The premise is to write 50k words in 30 days, all of November. Seems sort of easy, right? To complete 50k you need to write 1667 words a day. It's a hard but wonderful goal.

I attempted NaNoWriMo once in 2005, but that was a bad idea. It was my freshman year of college and I was still a Chemistry major, busy with ROTC and boyfriends, not dedicated enough. So last year, I found myself in a perfect place. I was new to Hawaii still, Brandon was in training 3 of the 4 weeks in November, I had no job and no friends, only a cute little puppy to take care of. So I jumped in. And now I have a completed novel nearly ready to be sent to agents. Wow! (It sure helped that I got a nice shiny new red bike for finishing haha. Thanks Brandon!)

I'm super excited for this year. Now I know I can do it, it's something that I can accomplish. Heck, even last year I finished a week and a half early! My goal was 1700 words a day and I far surpassed that. Anyway, I'm not going to go into what my next novel is about because my post is long enough... I'll let you know towards the end of the month.

Today was work and then the weekly dinner at friend's house. I had a beer and a glass of sangria, got a bit tipsy, haha. Poor Dexy was all alone today and was a bit hyper! Oh Brandon just came online. :D
