What does this mean to you?

An Introduction

Hello! I thought, as the days were coming closer to D-Day, that I would write an introduction about myself and this blog.

My name is Chantal and I'm married to Brandon. As opposed to many other blogs who have aliases for their names, I thought since I probably would slip up anyway (and my other blog mentions our names) I would just stick to this. Hi! I'm mom to Dexter and Winston, 11 month old boys who have four legs, tails and are very hairy. You'll hear more about them as the blog progresses. We live in Hawaii but we hail from Colorado. I was actually born in Canada but moved to Colorado when I was 12. I consider myself an American, though I still hold on to my Canadian accent.

Brandon and I both graduated university from the same place. He got a degree in Math and commissioned in the Army as a 2LT. We got married a week later. A year later I got my degree in History with a minor in Philosophy. I was also going to join the Army but my feet broke, I couldn't run, and so now I'm a milspouse. That's ok with me! I currently work on post (I work for the money, nothing else). My goal in life? To become a writer. Not that I'm any good... but it's worth a shot. I'm editing my first novel as we speak (ok, I'm writing this blog, but I do edit!).

I have very few goals for this blog.

1) Write every day.
2) Document this deployment, our first deployment.
3) Blog so my husband can feel connected to home.

It all kind of boils down to writing every day. I might not write a lot, but it'll be something. I want to document this strange, foreign, exciting and terrifying experience. I want my husband to see what I'm going through, good and bad, and for him to know that I'm fine. I'll be fine.

So there ya have it, folks. I plan on doing a contest or two, so start inviting your buddies. I'll have a blog button to give to you soon enough, once I stop being lazy. Feel free to comment and I'll try to answer your questions as best as possible.
